The Three Big Bads of Baldurs Gate 3

The Wielders of the Netherstones

In the beginning of Baldurs Gate 3, you are introduced to the immediate threat plaguing you and your companions. You all have been infected with mind flayer parasites, little worms that invade your brain, and are doomed to soon turn into mind flayers. With the risk of becoming a monster looming over you, the journey to find a cure begins. As you put more hours into the game, it’s quickly revealed that there’s something different with your parasites. While everyone expects you to turn quickly, there’s actually no visible effect to your appearance at all. It’s soon revealed that your parasite is different, and there’s a reason why this is happening.

It revealed with time that your brain worm is different than the usual one, as you are eventually introduced to the cult of the Absolute. This cult worships a fake god, the Netherbrain, who controls these worms and aims to turn the whole city of Baldurs Gate into monsters with time. Within this cult that threatens your humanity, there are three members who are seen as prophets of the Netherbrain, and act as the leaders of this cult. Ketheric Thorm, Enver Gortash, and Orin the Red act as rulers of the cult, although they each have different loyalties and motivations that are later explored in Act 3 of the game. This site will explain who the three villians are and what gods they might follow.
